Stacy Derstine

Stacy Derstine is vice president, external affairs for Arizona Public Service (APS). Based in Phoenix, APS is the state’s largest power company, providing retail electricity service to nearly 1.3 million homes and businesses across Arizona.

Derstine is responsible for the company’s state and local public affairs strategies, community affairs and corporate giving, including the APS Foundation.

Derstine has worked for APS for over 25 years and has served in a variety of customer service and regulatory roles. Prior to her current position, she was vice president, customer service, and chief customer officer, leading the company’s statewide customer service operations and marketing. She also served as general manager of regulatory and compliance and worked for APS Energy Services, where she was responsible for government and regulatory affairs in California, Texas, Nevada and Oregon.

She currently serves on the boards of directors for Florence Crittenton and the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce. She has been active over the years in numerous community and faith-based organizations, including Habitat for Humanity and Feed My Starving Children. 

Derstine also serves on the Advisory Committee for Retail Energy Policy of the Edison Electric Institute, the Advisory Board of the Association of Edison Illuminating Companies, the Marketing Executives’ Council and the Chief Customer Officer Council. 

She previously served on boards and participated in committees and organizations supporting national competitive energy markets, including the Alliance for Retail Electric Markets and the Electric Reliability Council of Texas.
Derstine earned her Bachelor of Science degree in business management from University of Phoenix.
