Robert S. Aiken

Robbie Aiken is vice president of federal affairs for Pinnacle West Capital Corporation.

Pinnacle West and its subsidiaries generate, sell and deliver electricity and sell energy-related products and services to retail and wholesale customers in the western United States. Its major subsidiary, Arizona Public Service Company (APS), is the state’s largest energy company, serving more than 1.4 million homes and businesses. The company is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona.

Aiken serves as Pinnacle West’s chief lobbyist, dealing extensively with Congress, and executive agencies including the Department of Energy, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of the Interior and the White House. He is responsible for developing positions and policy on federal issues related to energy, utilities, nuclear power, the environment, natural resources, renewables and taxes.

Prior to joining Pinnacle West in 1986, Aiken served in the Reagan Administration as principal Senate liaison and acting deputy assistant secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy and as director of congressional and legislative affairs for the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Reclamation. Aiken began his Washington career on the legislative staff of Senator Paul Laxalt (R-NV).

Aiken serves on the board of governors of Ford’s Theatre and is a member of the Business-Government Relations Council.

Aiken earned a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from the University of Florida.
