During this summer’s heat wave in the Southwest, several utilities and system operators across the region declared energy emergencies. APS never reached emergency status but out of an abundance of caution, we asked our customers to conserve energy during the peak period to ensure we’d have enough power to manage the unexpected. Our system operates on a variety of generation resources and this diverse energy mix has been hard at work through this heat wave to help meet customers’ energy needs.
