PHOENIX – Pinnacle West Capital Corporation’s (NYSE: PNW) board of directors has named Donald E. Brandt as President and Chief Operating Officer of Pinnacle West, effective March 1, 2008.
He also has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Arizona Public Service Co. (APS), the Company’s principal subsidiary. Brandt, 53, has served as President of APS since January 2007.
“Don has great leadership capabilities and is ideally suited to lead APS into an exciting and important future,” said Chairman Bill Post. “His expertise will benefit all of Arizona as our company takes essential steps to meet the state’s growing energy needs with resources that are reliable, clean and efficient.”
Brandt replaces Jack Davis in all three positions and will continue to report to Post. As previously reported, Davis, 61, is retiring after 35 years of service with the Company, also effective March 1, 2008.
Brandt joined APS and its parent company in 2002, and has more than 25 years of experience in the electric utility industry.
Pinnacle West is a Phoenix-based company with consolidated assets of about $11 billion. Through its subsidiaries, the Company generates, sells and delivers electricity and sells energy-related products and services to retail and wholesale customers in the western United States. It also develops residential, commercial, and industrial real estate projects.
