Peter Candelaria is vice president, Generation Development for Arizona Public Service (APS). Based in Phoenix, APS is Arizona’s largest energy provider and serves about 1.4 million homes and businesses across the state.
In his position, Candelaria is responsible for overseeing efforts to site and build new electric generation needed to reliably and affordably serve APS’s rapidly growing customer base.
Prior to his current role, Candelaria served as CEO of Loma Verde, LLC, where he oversaw generation development, managed major capital investments, and built high-performing teams to deliver complex projects on time and at scale. He also is a former executive of multiple independent power producers, specializing in the development, ownership, and operation of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects. From 2000 to 2011, he worked at APS in multiple engineering and management positions.
Candelaria earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering & Engineering Mechanics from the University of Arizona.
