Pinnacle West's Shultz Receives Leadership Award

Martin L. Shultz, Government Affairs vice president for APS parent company, Pinnacle West Capital Corp., earned recognition for leadership from Jobs for America's Graduates Inc., one of the nation's most successful school-to-work networks for high school students.

Shultz, and State Schools Superintendent Lisa Graham Keegan, received the National Network Leadership Award during a recent reception at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington. Both Shultz and Keegan serve as co-chairs with the organization's Arizona affiliate, Jobs for Arizona Graduates (JAG).

JAG is a public/private partnership among business, government, education and the community. The organization encourages students to stay in school and helps them develop the academic and vocational skills they'll need to succeed in the working world. JAG has developed programs in 28 states and serves nearly 60,000 young people who are at risk for dropping out of high school.

APS, Arizona's largest and longest-serving electric utility, serves more than 827,000 customers in 11 of the state's 15 counties. APS, with headquarters in Phoenix, is the largest subsidiary of Pinnacle West Capital Corporation (NYSE: PNW).
