Justin Joiner is vice president, resource management for Arizona Public Service Company (APS). Based in Phoenix, APS is Arizona’s largest energy provider, serving approximately 1.4 million homes and businesses across the state.
Joiner is responsible for navigating an evolving energy market, finding innovative solutions for delivering more clean energy, and addressing regional resource considerations and constraints to maintain reliable service for customers. He oversees long-term resource planning, resource acquisition, wholesale energy market engagement and energy commodity trading for APS.
Joiner has over 15 years of experience in the industry and has worked for some of the largest vertically integrated utilities in the nation, including Ameren Corporation and CenterPoint Energy, as well as the nation’s largest Regional Transmission Operator, MISO.
Prior to joining APS, Joiner served as chief commercial lead of renewable development and as director of power supply services at CenterPoint Energy, Inc. In those roles, he developed strategies for generation fleets in the mid-continent independent system operator (MISO) and PJM Interconnection, the regional transmission organization (RTO) that delivers power to much of the eastern United States.
Joiner earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and finance, and an MBA from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville.
