Jennifer Spina is vice president, nuclear regulatory and oversight at Palo Verde Generation Station for Arizona Public Service Company (APS). Based in Phoenix, APS is Arizona’s largest energy provider, serving approximately 1.4 million customers across the state.
Spina leads the regulatory affairs and nuclear oversight functions, including nuclear assurance, licensing, compliance, environmental, organizational effectiveness, performance improvement and owner communications for Palo Verde Generating Station, one of the nation’s largest producers of carbon-free electricity.
Prior to assuming her current role, she served as Associate General Counsel for APS and its parent company, Pinnacle West Capital Corporation, and was responsible for the Federal Regulation and Compliance, Labor & Employment, and Nuclear-practice areas. Spina brings more than 20 years of energy regulatory experience, including work with the NRC, FERC, NERC, WECC, DOE, and a variety of other federal and state regulatory agencies. Spina has been with APS since 2011. Prior to joining APS, she was an attorney in the Washington, DC office of the law firm Andrew Kurth LLP (now Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP).
Spina earned her law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center and holds two bachelor’s degrees (B.S., Administration of Justice and B.A., Psychology) from the Pennsylvania State University.
