Name: Gabriel Bradley Position: Procurement Intern Work Location: Four Corners Power Plant
My name is Gabriel Bradley and I attend San Juan College in Farmington, N.M. I worked in the Procurement Department. My duties included taking pictures of parts from the warehouse and putting them in the MLIS System. In college, I draw drawings of parts using the AutoCAD program. The parts I have drawn, I got to see in person. Reading from text books and looking at pictures is totally different than actually having that particular piece of equipment in your hands. My internship gave me responsibility and some knowledge of what to expect from a real world job. I appreciate what I learned in school and APS has given me the motivation to work harder. APS has given me the inspiration to get a good education, so I can get a good job. Name: Whitney Harvey Position: Accounting Intern Work Location: Corporate Headquarters
My name is Whitney Harvey and I am a graduating senior at Arizona State University. As an Accountancy major, I have learned the importance of hard work, compliance, group collaboration and discipline. These personal values have enabled me to succeed in my academic career, and have been enhanced with my internship experience at Arizona Public Service. When I walked through the doors of APS two years ago, I was intimidated, somewhat timid, and uncertain about my position as an intern in the Accounting department. Almost immediately, I met warm, friendly people that were willing to show me the ropes, to assist in training, and to illustrate the values and culture of the company. My internship experience has helped me to improve my communicative and interpersonal skills. I have learned the importance of prioritization, time management, and most importantly, professionalism. This internship experience has connected me with peers that share similar interests as me, and has also served as a unique mentoring opportunity that has led me on a journey towards limitless personal achievement.
