Scholarships

APS/Maricopa County Community Colleges Scholarship

(The information below is for the 2010-2011 school year; those scholarships have already been awarded. Information about the scholarships for the 2011-2012 academic year will be available in January 2011.)

Scholarship Award:   (25) $1,000 scholarships ($500 per semester) will be awarded to those eligible in three categories:     

1. sixteen (16) scholarships to high school seniors graduating in Spring 2010 or current Maricopa Community College student
2. seven (7) scholarships for the Chandler-Gilbert Electric Utility Technology Program
3. two (2) scholarships to eligible dependents of an employee of APS or any other Pinnacle West Capital Corporation subsidiaries

Eligibility/Criteria:  High school senior or current Maricopa Community College student.

• Field of study: 
  • Engineering - mechanical, electrical, civil, chemical, construction, material science, telecommunications or environmental
  • Trades and Crafts - electricity, electric technology (lineman), mechanical and industrial technology (HVAC, welding, machining), instrumentation and controls
  • Information Technology - programmer, network and graphics information
  • Business - accounting, finance, communication and supply chain management
• Cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0
• Enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) credit hours per semester
• Arizona resident
• Financial need

Deadline:     4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2010.

Application, transcripts and supporting documents must be received in the Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation Office at 2411 West 14^th Street, Tempe, AZ 85281 by this date and time.
