Being certified as a MWBE means that a business concern has gone through a rigorous and stringent certification process that confirms the business is a small business concern that is at least 51 percent owned, managed, and controlled by at least one or more individuals who is a minority or a woman or one or more such individuals. These organizations are the nation's leading third-party certifiers of Minority and Women Business Enterprises and are recognized and accepted by the majority of the major corporations across the United States. They provide access to a national standard of certification and information on certified MWBE’s to purchasing and supplier diversity managers through their Internet databases. Pinnacle West requires third party certification of diverse suppliers. Any Minority, Women, Veteran, Service-Disabled and/or HUBZone Enterprises interested in pursuing opportunities with Pinnacle West are encouraged to take the following steps steps: - Be certified by one or more of our recognized certification organizations;
- Learn more about how to do business with large corporations by attending seminars and workshops;
- Complete the Supplier Submittal Form on our web site and send us copies of your certification documents. Upon completion of our Supplier Submittal Form, if there is a sourcing opportunity for your specific business, you will be contacted to submit additional information.
Pinnacle West accepts certifications from one or more of the following agencies: - Minority-owned business certification from the National or Regional Minority Supplier Development Councils.
- Women-owned business certification from the Women's Business Enterprise National Council.
- SBA Certification i.e. 8(a), HubZone, Veterans and Disabled Veterans from local, state or federal government agencies i.e. City of Phoenix, ADOT, etc.

Once the Supplier Diversity and Development team receives your Supplier Submittal Form, the Supplier Diversity and Development team will review your information and certifications. If it is determined that there is a match between your products and services and our needs we will contact you. This determination does not guarantee your company will be awarded a contract with Pinnacle West. Annual Renewal
