Program Overview

What is APS  looking for in a supplier?

A strong supplier base is important in achieving the APS business objectives as well as strengthening our local communities. Strong suppliers contribute to the success of APS. Since APS is a large purchaser of services and products, we are frequently contacted by suppliers wanting to know what it takes to do business with us. Characteristics of an ideal supplier are as follows:

  • An Arizona or Southwest Region company owned by an MWB
  • Is the best at what they do, has extensive experience in their field
  • Excellent customer service
  • Competitive prices
  • Flexibility to help us meet our business needs
  • Has a competitive advantage
  • Understands the market
  • Has sound financial history
  • Has adequate insurance, bonding capabilities to meet job requirements
  • Has established safety programs
  • Has a diverse customer base, no one customer is more than 20% of your business
  • Has a second tier program to use MWB and reports this to Pinnacle West

Ideal suppliers provide competitive, strategic advantage and are good for APS and our Community. 

Beore you get started on the form, you may wish to gather the information below that will help you complete the Supplier Submittal Form:

  • Federal Tax Identification Number (or Social Security number for individuals0
  • DUN and Bradstreet's Data Universal Number System (D-U-N-S) Number
  • Your Dun and Bradstreet credit rating
  • North American Industry Classification (NAICS) for your business
  • Annual Gross Revenue figures
  • Number of employees
  • Length of time of continuous company operation
  • Two business trade or customer references
