Vendor Audits

APS monitors the environmental performance of suppliers in a variety of ways, including periodic audits of our vendors by the EHS audit group.

Of the 28 vendor audits completed in 2004, 75 percent were waste treatment, storage and disposal facilities; the remaining 14 percent were recycling firms and 11 percent provided services to Pinnacle West. Finally, the company belongs to the Joint Utility Vendor Audit Consortium (JUVAC), CHWMEG consortium and the Desert Utility Vendor Audit Team (DUVAT). The consortiums are made up of various organizations or partnerships that conduct vendor audits and make them available to their members. The consortiums conducted 68 percent of the vendor audits performed in 2004. Participation in these consortiums helps to leverage auditing resources.
