Patrick Dinkel

Pat Dinkel is vice president of environmental and chief sustainability officer for Arizona Public Service Company (APS). Based in Phoenix, APS is Arizona’s largest electric company and serves more than 1.2 million customers across the state.

Dinkel is responsible for environmental policy and strategy, as well as integrating the company’s sustainability strategies into core business operations. He also oversees industrial safety, health services, continuous improvement, advanced data analytics, as well as the corrective action and human performance programs.

Previously, Dinkel held the position of vice president of transmission and distribution operations and maintenance, after serving as the vice president of energy marketing, trading and resource planning. He joined APS in 1986 and spent the first 15 years of his career in corporate finance. Dinkel led the development of long-term power procurement and renewable energy management for the company. In that capacity, he developed a progressive distributed renewable program and successfully contracted for more than 2,000 megawatts of generation capacity.

Dinkel earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Marymount College and a Master of Business Administration degree from Northern Arizona University.
